- I am concern about the future of my children living in this country
- I strongly believe that the saying 'biar mati anak, jangan mati adat' (let the children die, lest not the custom) should be revised to be the other way around and instead be "biar mati adat, jangan mati anak" (let the custom dies, lest not the children). The reason being is simple, if the children die, the adat/custom will die too.
- Excuse me, but i truly do not intend to be political, I do worry about the political system in our country. By this i mean ' a racial based political system' that does'nt seem to bring that much good in the long run. Well, it fails in bosnia, iraq to name a few, but i guess i don't really have a solution for this, well maybe, not yet.
- I also worry about who is to be our leader in the future, when the wife of the 'so call to be the future PM' is really pushing hard to be the 1st lady, even way before she becomes one, and starts to ride on the wave of fame of some AF winner by recording an album and even worst, shooting a music video with him. (shame on you, woman! and yes i do believe in the saying "the woman behind, makes the man", you people should worry too)
For these, I have every reason in this world to blog, but if only i can only keep with this writing mood (or maybe suitably call 'whining mode')

In one of my classes in UIA, I was informed that the word 'adat' in that saying actually means 'agama'. Prior to colonial era, Malays lived by following Islamic Law which they called it undang2 adat where agama became their way of life, their practical affairs i.e "adat". The colonisers established the Religious Councils on the pretext of preserving Malay customs and the Islamic religion. In fact, their main function was to limit the role of Islam to purely personal matters. For their part the British promised they would not intervene in matters pertaining to Islam or Malay traditional practices. However, the separation of religion from the practical affairs of government and law was, in itself, an interference in matters pertaining to Islam. For example, adat perpatih. One of the main characteristics of the 'adat perpatih' was that of the matrilineal society. By this, land was owned by wives and passed to their daughters. This particular practise where was actually based on mazhab maliki. Since then, my interpretation of this saying, changed.
By the way... siapa "the wife of the 'so call to be the future PM' is really pushing hard to be the 1st lady, even way before she becomes one, and starts to ride on the wave of fame of some AF winner by recording an album and even worst, shooting a music video with him"?? aku dah buta entertainment like salawati!!

Assalamualaikum AO,
don't worrylah AO! saw the 'konon 1st lady 2B' at 3 Diva concert. i'm sure she has given up singing after that. 'Devastated by 3 Diva'!
Dear ao
This is my first visit to your blog, which I stumbled upon while going through kickdefella's blogroll.
Hmmm...about that someone who is already acting like the first lady of the country, she seems to forget that "manusia boleh merancang, tetapi Allah yang menentukan.”
acciaccatura,
she should stop singing, really stop singing and stop trying to be the 1st lady.
better stop banging on this, T said i should not be that political cause i'm in the system.
Hmmm, I agree that "manusia boleh merancang, tetapi Allah yang menentukan.”
Our PM goes abroad often, and who takes over his job while he is away? Why his Deputy ofcourse.
Not all official functions are meant for the male leaders and politicians, sometimes, if not often their wife will have to play an active role too. It is unfortunate that our PM lost his wife. But she is not here with us anymore. Who to replace her during these official functions, her daughter? Nieces? or the wife of the Deputy?
